Within our Hearts

I have often wondered
How far a man must walk
Before the memories of those once loved
Could no longer keep up and  let him walk alone

How dark must a place be
That the thoughts inside one’s own mind
Could no longer be seen
Against the gloom of where he finds himself

Well now there is a space between us
And the barriers are physically there
I know there is no distance great enough
Nor a place too dark to hide

Because there is I and others like me
That would walk a thousand footsteps
And keep forever a candle burning bright
So that you know that there is always…..

A place for you within our hearts

  1. Thank you too for your words. Have a great day!
In Mauritius, we are slowly pushing our way into summer, which promises to be colorful and fabulous. A little drizzle this morning when I open my eyes and read your poem. Now that the sun is shining in the blue sky, it predicts a warm and beautiful day.

    • Here in England we are set firm in Autumn. The leaves have changed to russet red, browns and yellows. Winter winds herald the impending arrival of winter on the horizon, but first we have Halloween and bon-fire night to look forward too.

Have a beautiful a day as you are Anita. Look forward to speaking with you soon.
