Stepladder

A late entry to my weekend challenges this one. I know I said #10 would be the last for a while, so consider a bonus. Poetry with the word: Stepladder.

She is my crush,
My childhood sweetheart,
We two live doors apart,
And we go to the same school.
But she is fourteen,
And I am only twelve,
I think she thinks,
That I’m too young.
She smiles at me though,
And sometimes ruffles my hair,
In a way a big sister would,
But I’ve already got one of those.
They are best of friends,
And hang around a lot,
They caught me once up a stepladder,
Watching them both sunbath.
They told my mum,
And I was grounded for a week,
I was even given ‘that’ talk,
But it didn’t put me off.
She is my crush,
My childhood sweetheart,
And I’d get caught up a million ladders,
If one day she would be mine.
