I looked into her eyes and saw the tears
Held her hands and felt them shake
There was something I wasn’t going to like
Sitting on her mind waiting to be said
There was a lump forming in my throat
My chest started to tighten uncomfortably
I pulled her close but was offered resistance
As her gaze took her eyes away from mine
But then she cried as she leaned in closer
Pushed her lips gently against my own
I could taste the tears linger after the moment
She gave Death’s Sweet Kiss to us and said “goodbye”
