The old bell tolled
A dozen chimes into the crisp night air
As an old and weary knight let go his sword
Then fell heavily against the base of a tree
Song filled the air
He had seen too much blood this eve
Even his own slowly ebbed away from him
But his promise was kept to see another day
Louder now the singing
As another voice joins that of the knight
A shrouded figure holding time in his hands
Continues the tune as the knight fades away
Death sings alone
As another soul is added to those already given
And as the last chime of the old bell tolls
Silence falls where battle, song and bell once tolled
