Final Leap of Faith

I stood upon a wooden bridge

Across a gentle flowing stream

But seen through my eyes

A wild torrent flowed beneath

The sun beat down lazily

Kissing gently my unclothed back

But all I was able to feel

Was the winds of a brewing storm

People would pass me by

Their smiles and words go unseen

As all I could hear from them

Were their screams of anger and hatred

I stood on the rail and found my footing

Looking down I could see the swell beneath me

A hand reached out and briefly touched me

Before I leapt towards my final salvation
